There where several well know yacht builders in the beginning of the last century. Some worked for several diffrent yacht designers and some where actually owned and run by a reputeable yacht designer.

Here we have gathered some information about the yards and who ran them and what they built. On some yards we currently have much info including whatyachts they actually built and on some we are still working on completing the lists. Under each yard naem you will find information about the history.

There are many yacht building yard that have contributed to the developemetn of sailing. Some has become famous for success in Designing Americas Cup yachts, other have become famous for certain yacht types they ave built.
There are yacht building yards that started in th 19th century and still run today, and there are some who only survied there original owners talent and then closed when they pased away. Here we have gathered some info on the most famous yard over time when it comes to building sailing boats and classic yachts over time.
On some yards you will not only find general info but also some more or less complete lists over all the yachts built at that yard.
